OUR STORY

A Legacy of Excellence

Lazy MD GunDogs was founded by Donna Gibbons Markey and Keith Markey in 2000. What began as a small hobby has grown into a renowned kennel known for producing exceptional English Setters and English Cocker Spaniels. Our journey has been marked by dedication, passion, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Over the years, we've celebrated numerous milestones and achievements, always striving to improve and uphold the highest standards in breeding and training.

We uphold standards in breeding by extensive review of temperament, hunting ability, and trainability--.  We do medical testing to include but not conclusive of medical genetics, hip dysplasia evaluation, elbow dysplasia evaluation and  an opthalmic evaluation.

Dashing Iron Streek ‘Streek”

Trained and handled the 2005 National Llewellin National Championship.

This was an hour-long walking competition that represented a natural hunting scenario. The dog had to hunt objectives, point, and remain steady. The bird was flushed, then shot, and the dog then had to retrieve it to hand. Streek had 6 steady finds and retrieves on a very warm Texas day.
